Xpoint has appointed former IGT head Shaan Devaraj as the geolocation supplier’s new chief technology officer (CTO).

Devaraj replaces Chris Chapman, who left the company in August, having been promoted to the role in September 2024.

Devaraj joins from Georgia-based operator United Interactive, where he spent a year-and-a-half as its CTO and helped launch its B2C brand, Bet United.

Before joining United Interactive in July 2024, he spent 10 years with mobile and igaming operator iPro as CTO.

Devaraj also spent 14 years with Double Down Interactive between May 2000 and May 2014, with IGT snapping up the social gaming giant in 2012.

Joining as senior software engineer and technical lead, he was promoted to enterprise architect in May 2005 before moving to the role of director of software development and architecture in July 2012 until his departure.

Now with Xpoint, Devaraj will work with CEO Manu Gambhir and the executive team to help guide the engineering team on the development of the supplier’s geolocation technology.

Devaraj’s addition comes after the supplier added ex-Betfair director Chris Boni as chief of staff in October and Tom Flaherty as CFO earlier this year.
