Nico Harrison Out as Mavericks GM Months After Dončić Trade: Reports

Source of this Article 3 hours ago 7

The Mavericks are expected to fire GM Nico Harrison nine months after the blockbuster Luka Dončić trade.

Dallas owner Patrick Dumont has a meeting with Harrison set for 10 a.m. CT where he will inform Harrison of the decision to let him go, according to ESPN.

Mavericks fans have been calling for his ouster since he traded Dončić—whom the franchise drafted in 2018—to the Lakers in February for a package including Anthony Davis.

The Mavericks are 3–8 to start the 2025–26 season, second to last in the Western Conference. Star guard Kyrie Irving has yet to play this season after tearing his ACL, while Davis has played just five games.

Harrison joined the Mavericks in 2021 and led them to the NBA Finals in 2024.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
