UK operators have set new quarterly records for online slots gross gambling yield (GGY) and number of spins from players, according to the latest figures from the Gambling Commission (GC).
Between July and September 2025, GGY for online slots from UK-licenced operators amounted to £747m, up 9% year on year (YoY).
In terms of number of spins, the overall figure came to 24.4 billion, up 4% YoY.
The GC highlighted that the figures for both metrics represented “new peaks” for the second consecutive quarter.
Furthermore, the number of online slots sessions lasting longer than an hour decreased 15% YoY to 8.6 million.
Data showed the average online slots session length decreased from 17 minutes to 16 minutes during Q2.
Around 4.6% of all online slot sessions lasted for more than one hour, down from 6% during the corresponding period in 2024.
In April, the GC’s mandatory £5 stake limit for over-25s on online slots came into effect.
An additional £2 online slot stake limit for adults aged between 18 and 24 would later come into force in May.
Overall, GGY for online gambling between July and September increased 8% YoY to £1.4bn, as per the GC’s data.
Real event betting represented £508m of GGY, with casino betting excluding slots adding GGY of £140.7m.
Virtual betting GGY totalled £7.9m, esports betting added £4m, while poker’s quarterly GGY came to £11.1m.
The overall number of total bets and spins increased 3% YoY, to 26.1 billion.
