On Thursday, International Gaming Technology (IGT) announced that its subsidiary, IGT Global Solutions , is extending both of its contracts with the Kentucky Lottery until 2036.
Jay Gendron , IGT Chief Operating Officer, Global Lottery, mentioned that IGT’s forward-thinking approach is vital in the constantly evolving lottery industry. In the coming decade, it will continue to strengthen its collaboration with the Kentucky Lottery as the lottery leverages IGT’s advanced technology to elevate the player’s gaming experience.
According to an IGT press release , Mary R. Harville , Kentucky Lottery Corporation President & CEO, said IGT has collaborated with the lottery since its inception. And with the new agreement, they look to modernize their lottery services.
“The Kentucky Lottery has partnered with IGT since operations first began and we have continued to look for ways, in partnership with IGT, to modernize our offerings over the last 30-plus years.”
IGT improves retail and online business for the Kentucky Lottery
IGT will enhance the Kentucky Lottery’s central system by integrating it with its high-performance Aurora platform . The platform is designed with a player-centric omnichannel approach to boost creativity and profitability.
The Kentucky Lottery will also receive an upgraded online lottery system, including cloud integration. Several features of Aurora will be sent to the cloud to optimize functionality, including:

Performance Wizard
Retailer Wizard
Sales Wizard

IGT will improve the lottery’s retail system by creating a solution that will make self-service retail terminals easier to use, which should bolster sales.
“Enhancing our lottery solutions with IGT’s retail and iLottery systems and convenient self-service retail terminals will provide more opportunities for us to responsibly grow our sales and return additional funds for scholarships and grants for Kentucky college students,” Harville added.
Still enhancing retail sales, IGT will deploy new point-of-sale hardware for 3,400 lottery retailers across Kentucky. In addition to this, the extended partnership will involve the deployment of:

4000 new retailer Pro terminals
Ticket checkers
850 GameTouch 28 lottery vending machine
An upgraded regent security tool

IGT maintains a robust presence throughout the US
The gaming technology operator has established a strong presence in the US gambling market by extending its services to 25 different lotteries. Those markets include eight of the world’s largest lotteries and six of the top 25 lotteries globally.
The publicly traded company holds over 500 global licenses, all regulated by governmental gaming agencies. Srini Nedunuri , IGT Senior Vice President of Global iLottery, spoke on how IGT aided customer retention for the Kentucky Lottery:
“In 2016, the Kentucky Lottery became one of IGT’s first US customers to launch an iLottery program.
Since then, IGT has worked with the Kentucky Lottery to triple the number of online draw games available to players, as well as provide a vast portfolio of compelling eInstant games. IGT’s cloud-based iLottery platform will offer the Lottery more flexibility, increased analytics and a full suite of advanced player-management features and responsible gaming tools.”
In other news, IGT renewed its partnership with the California Lottery for seven years.
