Rockstar has announced that two older Grand Theft Auto games can now be played on iOS and Android if you have a GTA+ membership.

It’s been a long time since Rockstar Games released a new GTA game, but in the meantime they’re pushing older entries through their membership scheme, including two former portable titles that have been almost forgotten by fans.

2005’s Liberty City Stories (originally a PSP game) and 2009’s Chinatown Wars (originally a DS exclusive) are now being made available for mobile gamers.

Although the two games have been available on Google Play and the App Store before, they now come with a free trial if you have a GTA+ subscription.

In a release posted October 19 on their website , Rockstar announced:

‘Beginning today, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars are now available for GTA+ Members to play on compatible iOS and Android devices.’

‘Anyone who downloads the latest versions of these titles from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store can enjoy a one-time, 30-minute free trial with the option to purchase the full game, while GTA+ Members can also unlock full game access by logging in with the Rockstar Games Social Club account that is connected to their console with an active GTA+ Membership.’

With a GTA+ membership you can try one game, one time, for 30 minutes or you can just purchase it outright.

Although the statement isn’t completely clear, it also seems that without a membership you can’t play the games on mobile.

Another game GTA+ members have access to at the moment is Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, which is available on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
