Until June 16, you can get 12 months of any PS Plus tier at a discount, and you can even buy them in bulk.
Sony has kicked off a new Days of Play sale on the PlayStation Store, which means a whole load of PlayStation 4 and 5 games are now discounted.
The reductions vary from game to game but from a quick glance, we can see first party titles like The Last Of Us Part 1 are at least 25% off, Grand Theft Auto 5 is going for just £14.99 (at least on PlayStation 4), and the recently released Dead Island 2 is already 20% cheaper at £47.99.
Perhaps the most enticing offers, though, are for PlayStation Plus, as Sony is offering 25% discounts on 12-month subscriptions for every tier, and these are available to everyone.
So, aside from being a jumping on point for newcomers, current subscribers can upgrade to a new subscription or higher tier and still reap the benefits.
Sony isn’t exactly being loud about it, but the fine print on its website does read, ‘25% discount available for new and existing members on 12-month subscriptions, and existing users for upgrades to Extra and Premium on 1-month, 3-month or 12-month subscriptions.’
It’s even allowing you to stack these discounted subscriptions, meaning you’ll keep paying for less even after the sale has run its course… assuming you can afford multiple subscriptions.
As for the prices, 12 months of the Essential tier costs £37.49 instead of the usual £49.99. This is the most basic tier that includes online multiplayer and monthly games.
12 months of the Extra tier, which includes access to a catalogue of select PlayStation 4 and 5 games, costs £62.99 instead of £83.99.
Finally, 12 months of the Premium tier, which offers the rather lacklustre retro games catalogue, costs £74.99 instead of £99.99.
To reiterate, this only applies to the 12-month subscriptions (the three and six month subscriptions’ prices are unchanged) and you only have until June 12 to take advantage of the offer before the prices go back up.
Two years of Premium even at this discount will still set you back just under £150 (Picture: Sony)
