Major changes could be happening to Fortnite soon (pic: Epic Games)
A new Fortnite leak claims Chapter 4 is set to wrap up with Season 4, meaning that Chapter 5 could launch by the close of 2023.
Just like any other battle royale, Fortnite is structured into distinct themed periods, during which you can unlock rewards via the battle pass and participate in exclusive events.
Over the years, the length of each chapter in the game has varied, with Chapter 2 comprising of eight seasons, while more recent chapters have had shorter runs.
Despite being in the second season of Chapter 4, Fortnite players may be in for a surprise. Usually, there would be a considerable wait for the next chapter, but a new leak hints that Chapter 5 will be knocking on the door sooner than expected…
Reliable leaker ShiinaBR revealed Chapter 5 will launch by the end of 2023, meaning that Chapter 4 will likely conclude after only four seasons.
According to the leaker, this revelation aligns with their belief that going forward, Fortnite will adopt a yearly chapter format, as opposed to longer ones.
Chapter 4 is apparently ending after the 4th season, which means Chapter 5 launches at the end of 2023, according to @NotJulesDev ð¥ This coincides with my assumption that from now on we will get annual chapters instead of very long ones. pic.twitter.com/TGJv5pt6U3 — Shiina (@ShiinaBR) May 12, 2023
As a result, you can anticipate more frequent and significant changes in the game, ensuring there’s always something new to engage with.
However, due to the shorter chapter durations, it’s possible that Fortnite’s live events, typically held at the start of each season, may also transition to an annual occurrence.
Although Chapter 4’s days are numbered, it’s far from running on empty. Fortnite’s v24.40 update is slated to launch on Wednesday, May 17, and it’s bringing an official ranked mode to the game at long last.
The upcoming season also holds exciting prospects as you can anticipate the comeback of Chapter 2’s raptors, accompanied by a fresh jungle biome .
What’s more, it appears these creatures will be rideable, adding a twist to the dynamics of the current gameplay experience.
Yet another Marvel crossover is also rumoured to arrive in the battle royale in June, adding new Spider-Man-themed items and possibly a Miles Morales skin .
