How long is Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom? Estimated play time

If you’re wondering how long it takes to beat Zelda : Tears Of The Kingdom be prepared to clear a few weeks on your schedule.

Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom is even more colossal than its predecessor, and that’s saying something since Breath Of The Wild has one of the biggest open worlds ever in a video game.

Link’s journey in Tears Of The Kingdom encompasses not only two new maps – the sky islands and the depths – but also a reworked surface, making it an epic adventure where it will take a very long time to see everything.

As with any game, you can either be a completionist, hunting for every secret in Hyrule, or play through just the necessary quests to complete the story.

As such, the time required to beat the game will vary greatly based on how much of the game you want to experience.

Assuming you only aim to complete the main quests and essential side activities, we have estimated that the game can be wrapped up in roughly 50-60 hours, assuming you purposefully avoid all distractions.

Playing through Tears of the Kingdom in a standard way, with some exploration, will likely take around 60-70 hours.

However, if you want to immerse yourself in the game and really make the most of it, that time frame could easily extend far beyond that, depending on your skill at playing.

To achieve a full completionist run of Tears Of The Kingdom, be ready to invest a minimum of 100 hours, as you’ll have to scour every inch of the game.

In fact, the 100-hour mark is more of a conservative estimate. If you’re the type who likes to tinker around and explore everything, be warned that spending over 300 hours in Tears Of The Kingdom is not out of the question – after all, that’s how long it took some people to see everything in Breath Of The Wild.

If you’re an avid speedrunner looking to zip through the game, it’s possible to reach the end credits of Tears Of The Kingdom in under five hours.

Although the game won’t reveal the location of the final boss until you finish the main quests, it’s still possible to find and defeat them early on, allowing you to beat the game whenever you desire.

One Zelda speedrunner called gymnast86 managed to beat Tears Of The Kingdom in a jaw-dropping 94 minutes, but achieving that level of skill is nearly impossible for most players.
