An observant Destiny 2 fan has pointed out that Florence Pugh’s Met Gala outfit bears an uncanny resemblance to the game’s Witch Queen.



The Met Gala just took place in New York City, with celebrities from all around the world flocking to the red… white and blue carpet to showcase their glamorously weird outfits . 



Although this year’s theme was a tribute to the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld , it appears that a prominent celebrity drew inspiration from the gaming world, specifically Destiny 2. 



Actress Florence Pugh unwittingly referenced Destiny 2 in her outfit, a detail that likely went unnoticed by her… but not the game’s fans. 



A dedicated Destiny 2 player noted that the actress’ peculiar headdress bore some resemblance to the Witch Queen’s helmet in the game. 



The hat worn by Pugh comprises a thin headband with numerous long black feathers jutting straight up. The feathers’ shape, however, creates the impression of a sequence of thin rods supporting a ring at the crown. 



As noted by Reddit user SirPork7111, Pugh’s headpiece bears some similarity to the crown atop the Witch Queen’s head in Destiny 2.

It may be difficult to see the resemblance between the two headpieces at first, but placing the two images side by side reveals an uncanny similarity. 



Although there is no proof that Pugh’s towering headpiece was inspired by the Witch Queen… there is also no proof that it wasn’t.

Along with the peculiar headress, the actress made her first Met Gala appearance sporting a fresh new buzzcut , likely in preparation for her upcoming film We Live In Time. 



Unfortunately, the gaming references – intentional or not – ended as soon as Pugh made her way into the Metropolitan Museum of Art. 



However, if Vogue editor Anna Wintour is seeking inspiration for the 2024 Met Gala, video games could be a great theme.
