Some new Season 3 weapon skins in Warzone 2 have players accusing Activision of recycling old designs instead of making new ones.
On April 12, the Season 3 update went live for both Call Of Duty titles, introducing new maps, operators, and weapon blueprints.
Warzone 2 players have expressed their discontent with the new season despite the addition of a wide range of new content, labelling a big chunk of it as ‘pay-to-win.’
Now, players are accusing Activision of trying to sell them recoloured skins from the original games , after noticing striking similarities.
Players claim that the new cannabis-themed bundle called Tracer Pack: Dr Kushlov, priced at 2,400 COD points (£16.79), reuses certain assets previously seen in older games.
The Vaporizer, a Kastov 762 variant included in the bundle, is essentially a reskin of Modern Warfare’s Resonant, an AK-47 that fired electric bullets.
However, instead of electric bullets, the Vaporizer fires green tracers and has a Smoke Puff death effect.
Apart from the new death effect, tracers, and recoloured variant, the Vaporizer is nearly identical to the Resonant weapon blueprint.
In fact, the gun model is so similar that it even uses renamed versions of the same barrel and magazine attachment.

Also included in the Dr Kushlov bundle is an operator skin for operator Gromsko, which players claim reuses assets from operator Bale’s Dr Karlov skin appearing in Modern Warfare.
The similarities were first spotted by news page CharlieIntel, which posted the Vaporizer and Resonant weapon blueprints side by side.
Their post quickly went viral as Warzone 2 players rushed to the comments to bash Activision for its lack of creativity.
All the fun of buying the same skin again
