Before the June PlayStation showcase, Sony has one more State of Play for fans, with this one dedicated to Final Fantasy 16.
Although nothing has been formally announced yet, PlayStation fans are eagerly anticipating a major PlayStation showcase , rumoured to be taking place in June when E3 would normally be.
Before that, though, Sony has at least one more of its smaller State of Play presentations to hold.
Scheduled for Thursday, April 13 at 10pm BST, the main attraction will be Final Fantasy 16 , which will be showing off more than 20 minutes of new footage.
From the sound of things, this will be the only game featured during the showcase so don’t go in expecting any new game reveals or a new trailer for Spider-Man 2 .
Neither the announcements on Twitter or the PlayStation Blog make any mention of other titles or anything but Final Fantasy.

‘From the moment Final Fantasy 16 debuted in our 2020 PlayStation 5 Showcase , fans around the world have eagerly awaited details on the game’s dark fantasy setting, the powerful Eikons and the Dominants who house them, and the flashy battle system teased in those early trailers,’ reads the PlayStation Blog post .
‘We’re happy to announce this week’s State of Play will dive into all this and more,’ it continues, although it’s likely that the ‘and more’ is referring to just more of Final Fantasy 16’s gameplay and story rather than any separate announcements.
Sony and Square Enix have already shown quite a bit of Final Fantasy 16 as of late, thanks to gameplay demonstrations and previews, so (unless they plan on spoiling a bunch of endgame content) it’s difficult to guess what sort of new info will be shared at the State of Play.

It makes sense that Final Fantasy 16 is getting such a strong push though, as it’s Sony’s big summer exclusive and apart from Spider-Man 2 in the autumn they don’t currently have anything else announced.
This State of Play is bound to be more well received by fans than the last one, from February. That one’s main focus was Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League , which isn’t even a PlayStation 5 exclusive but had such a poor reception that rumours suggest it was subsequently delayed – although that’s never been confirmed officially.
