According to Blizzard you will still have plenty to accomplish long after finishing Diablo 4’s story campaign. 



As the Diablo 4 beta testing phase has concluded and the official launch draws closer , Blizzard has started sharing more and more details about the final product. 



With the introduction of an open world element and the inclusion of three new stats, Diablo 4 will add a suite of new features , in a bid to differentiate itself from its forerunners.



There’ll also be a significant story campaign and now Blizzard has revealed what you’ll be able to do after that’s completed…



Change Diablo 4’s difficulty with World Tiers



First, once the game’s campaign is completed, you will have access to a distinct ‘capstone dungeon’ according to Blizzard’s newly published endgame explainer. 



After finishing that dungeon, the first World Tier will be unlocked, along with a new level of difficulty. However, to balance things out you’ll gain access to powerful new loot and various perks for your character. 



If you’re the type of player who craves a soul-crushing level of difficulty in Diablo 4, then this is the feature you’ve been waiting for.

A revamped Paragon system



Apart from the base skill tree, you will also have the option to further tailor your characters with the Paragon system, as it’s designed to offer more depth and options in Diablo 4. 



By rotating the Paragon board, you can customise the general trajectory of your endgame upgrades, which will mostly look like enhancements to your existing character stats.

Part of the Diablo 4 crafting system, the Codex of Power will enable you to equip Aspects acquired via dungeons. 



Through Aspects, you can make the items you find throughout the game more powerful, turning them into legendary-class items. 



Nightmare Dungeons



However, you can also return to dungeons you’ve already played through and modify them with a Sigil. 



These Sigils will alter the play style and intensity of the dungeons, turning them into Nightmare Dungeons. 



Nightmare Dungeons are characterised by increased difficulty, extra objectives, and modifiers referred to as Affixes.

For example, one of those Affixes, called Hellgate, will randomly open portals inside of dungeons that summon monsters not usually found in that region. 



There are over 120 dungeons to play through and find in Diablo 4 and every one of them can become a Nightmare Dungeon.



Even more endgame exploration



The overworld of Diablo 4 will also be adjusted to include special events in areas called Helltides.   



In these regions afflicted by Helltides, monsters will become more challenging, and you will be called to confront adverse environmental effects, such as meteors falling from the sky. 



In addition, there is a bounty system centred around the Tree of Whispers area, requiring you to fulfill bounties in different locations throughout Sanctuary to gain rewards. You can do these bounties solo or as a group.

The Fields and player vs. player combat



Certain regions of Sanctuary are tainted by the influence of Lilith and when you enter these areas you have the option to participate in player vs. player combat. 



You can earn items called shards during these fights but they come with an unexpected twist when it’s time to redeem them. 



In order to redeem shards in town, they must first be ‘purified,’ but beware, as other players may attempt to stop you and steal them during your journey. 



Once shards have been purified, they can be exchanged in towns for unique cosmetic rewards. 



Even if you were to successfully complete all the endgame activities available in Diablo 4, rest assured that Blizzard has confirmed plans for a series of post-launch updates to keep everyone engaged.
