A recent Counter Strike 2 model design leak suggests that there will be transparent skins and animations added to the sequel.



As the public release of Counter Strike 2 draws near, fans of the shooter are eager to know what will be added in the full launch, as the limited test mode offers only a small taste of the sequel.



Valve has confirmed that Counter Strike 2 will officially launch in the summer and with a few months to go, there’s still loads of content that hasn’t yet been revealed or is still in development. 



However, a recent leak has uncovered an important design detail that hints at how skins and animations may function in the sequel. 



Through a post on Twitter, well known Counter Strike dataminer ZooL has revealed that certain weapons in Counter Strike 2 will feature fully modelled bullets. 



Although it may not seem significant at first glance, no previous Counter Strike game has ever featured a detail like that.

According to ZooL, this may indicate that Valve has plans for new weapon animations in the future and even suggests there will be translucent skins to show how many bullets you have left in game. 



The concept of translucent skins isn’t entirely new for the series, as there have been various items like the X-Ray and Clear Polymer designed to offer the same effect. 



As Counter Strike 2 is being developed on Valve’s Source 2 engine, it is anticipated that features like these will be upgraded to provide improved visuals and mechanics.

On top of that, you’ll be happy to know that you can keep every item you’ve collected over the years, meaning they’ll all benefit from the upgraded lighting and materials. 



In short, the Source 2 engine is set to significantly improve the visuals for old skins even if they’re technically the same item.



For now, all you can do is enjoy the limited test mode if you’ve been among the lucky few to get an invitation. If that’s not the case, then it’s important to be cautious of individuals who falsely offer beta access with the intention of scamming fans.
