A classic map and weapon are set to make a comeback in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 3, as hinted in one of the first teasers. 



Amidst the barrage of Call Of Duty leaks, it’s refreshing to have an official glimpse of what to expect in Season 3 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. 



Players are eagerly anticipating the Season 3 launch around April 12th, and to appease their impatience, Activision has released a new video confirming the return of some beloved classics. 



In the video, you can see streamer FaZe Dirty get a taste of the new FJX Imperium sniper, and a multiplayer map called Pelayo’s Lighthouse, during a secret playtest.



Experiencing déjà vu? Don’t worry, the new weapon and map are indeed inspired by content from the original titles. 



After levelling it up to obtain a shorter-range scope, the FJX Imperium sniper closely resembles the original Intervention sniper at its best. 



If you’ve been closely following leaks, you’ll know the Intervention, aka the FJX Imperium, was revealed as one out of a dozen new weapons arriving with Season 3 . 



Once the sneak peek clip was published on social media, FaZe Dirty took to his YouTube channel to share some more details on the new weapon and map.

He said it feels good to have a version of the Intervention back and after showing how it works in-game, he also gave his viewers a brief walkthrough of a familiar location. 



The streamer explored a house on Pelayo’s Lighthouse that looks like it was taken straight out of classic map Estate – which was featured in the 2009 version of Modern Warfare 2.

Some Call Of Duty players were quick to criticise Activision for seemingly recycling old maps.



However, FaZe Dirty explained that it’s only that specific house that’s 100% identical to what you’d have seen on Estate, and that the rest of Pelayo’s Lighthouse is quite different. 



Not long ago another major leak hinted at seven more maps and new crossovers coming. Specifically, the leak highlighted three core maps and one battle map arriving in April.
