Veteran players of Resident Evil 4 are tricking newbies into shooting the lake in order to get their hands on some free goodies. 



Many games have a history of trolling their players, whether it be by hiding the true ending behind a challenging level or hiding useful loot in places no sane person would ever look.



Resident Evil 4 doesn’t do this but its fans do, and a dedicated group of seasoned players have been busy trying to lure newcomers into a deadly trap in Resident Evil 4 remake .



These poor rookies were led to believe that by shooting at a lamp and then the nearby lake they would be granted free, hidden costumes in the game. But that’s not true at all.



Instead, the hapless players are met with the gigantic Del Lago creature bursting out of the water and devouring Leon completely.

While the trick may be sly, it certainly delivers a chuckle to everyone watching unsuspecting players get gobbled up by the gargantuan beast.



Accidentally summoning Del Lago is meant to be a surprise for anyone firing their gun wildly, or perhaps trying to injure the beast with normal weapons before the boss battle itself begins (which is fought only with spears).



If you know how to trigger the monster though it’s easy to trick others into doing the same, especially if you pretend they’ll get some exclusive loot out of it.

The Del Lago trap is far from the only funny moment in the game, with fans still divided on whether the Merchant’s new voice is better or worse than before.



With his dark robes and cockney accent, the Merchant has become one of the most invertedly humorous characters in the game. 



Despite his sinister appearance, his enthusiastic greetings always make him a welcome sight when you bump into him.



After all you’ll have to make regular visits to the Merchant if you want to upgrade your gear and become invincible against the lurking monsters.
