Will Asmongold be the next big name to pop up on Kick? (pic: Metro.co.uk)



A series of mysterious tweets from top streamer Asmongold have sparked rumours he’s moving to Twitch rival Kick.



With popular streamers such as Adin Ross moving to the green platform, it wouldn’t be surprising to see more and more creators making a permanent switch from Twitch, given how much better it pays.



Although Asmongold is mainly active on YouTube now – after being part of the mass streamer exodus from Twitch – some recent comments suggest you might see his name pop up on Kick soon.  



In recent months, Kick has emerged as one of Twitch’s main rivals, so it wouldn’t be that surprising to see the World Of Warcraft streamer try to get in on the action. 



In a now-deleted tweet Kick teased a big name signing up with its platform, sending the online community into a frenzy. 



Asmongold was quick to comment on the post, writing ‘Hmm I wonder who it is’, fuelling rumours he’ll be the next familiar face to make the switch.

It has since been revealed that Kick’s cryptic message was about chess grandmaster and streamer Hikaru Nakamura, who has amassed a huge following on Twitch. 



However, the platform didn’t miss a chance to tease fans and directly ask Asmongold when he’ll be making an account on Kick.

The streamer hasn’t replied to Kick yet, at least not publicly on Twitter, although many fans encouraged him to try the new platform out. 



In a recent video, Asmongold also said if streamers can switch to Kick and retain their audience, they will move to Kick, implying he doesn’t see any downside to going through with the move.  



‘It’s literally that simple. Why would you not move to Kick? You get paid more money and you still have people watching you. Why would you stay on Twitch with 50/50 [sub revenue split],’ he said.

In the past Asmongold has been vocal about his distaste for Twitch, accusing it of not promoting his channel during the World Of Warcraft Dragonflight launch. 



He has also criticised Twitch’s changes to its revenue system , along with many other streamers who have been complaining about the platform’s poor treatment of its creators. 



Kick also appears to be far more lenient when it comes to showing gambling and steamy content, in contrast to Twitch which has completely banned certain chance-based games, dividing the online community.
