Street Fighter 6 – fans are going wild for Cammy’s new look (pic: Capcom)



Three more characters have been revealed for Street Fighter 6, completing the initial line-up for the game’s launch.



Suicide Squad may have been the centrepiece of last night’s State of Play , but it was Capcom that stole the show with two jam-packed trailers for the Resident Evil 4 remake and Street Fighter 6 .



The latter revealed three more characters and while fans already knew they were coming, thanks to the big roster leak , this trailer showed them in action for the first time.



The characters in question are fan favourites Zangief and Cammy, who have made consistent appearances since the days of Street Fighter 2 (technically, Cammy debuted in Super Street Fighter 2), and newcomer Lily, bringing the roster up to 18 fighters.



Capcom has reiterated that this is the final launch line-up for Street Fighter 6, a detail it admitted last year when it shared the opening cinematic for the game’s story mode .



The leaked roster includes a few more characters that otherwise haven’t shown up yet: Akuma, Ed, Rashid, and a new face named A.K.I. Presumably, they’re being saved for DLC.









As for the final three fighters, Capcom has shared some basic background info via the Street Fighter 6 website , with Zangief and Cammy still committed to their respective careers as a pro wrestler and special forces agent.



They also continue to play similarly to their previous appearances. Zangief remains the series’ preeminent grappler, swinging opponents into the air and slamming them down with ferocious force. All while showboating to the crowd.



One of his V-Trigger abilities from Street Fighter 5 has been repurposed as a super move and he’s picked up a new counter attack called Tundra Storm that’s meant for blocking kicks.



As for Cammy, although she’s sporting a new look that gives her trousers, and isn’t just a green one piece, she retains her athleticism and quick attacks. Diehard fans will be amused to see one of her moves is a direct reference to the old Street Fighter 2 animated movie from 1994.

Lily looks a lot of fun to play as too, wielding a pair of ‘war clubs’ and apparently having the power to control wind like an airbender.

Although the website doesn’t clarify, Lily seems to be Native American, given her design and the fact that she comes from the same tribe as T. Hawk – another Native American character who also started his career in Super Street Fighter 2. Lily even shares several of the same attacks with him.



You can find more details about each character on the PlayStation Blog , which also announces the return of the Capcom Pro Tour. It’ll be the first Capcom esports event to feature Street Fighter 6 and will have a prize pool of $2 million (approximately £1.67 million).
