You’ll need to dig deep for troll bogeys to complete Professor Onai’s assignment in Hogwarts Legacy. 



Magical beasts are an essential part of the Wizarding World and that means that Hogwarts Legacy is filled with trolls, and not the internet sort.



In the game, trolls are rather useful as their bogeys are crucial to completing Professor Onai’s assignment and cooking up invisibility potions. 



Here’s how and where you can get your hands on some troll bogeys, whether you’d like to collect them straight from the source or pay a small fee. 



Where to buy troll bogeys in Hogwarts Legacy  



The easiest way to find troll bogeys is to buy them from the J. Pippin’s Potions shop in Hogsmeade at the price of 100 Galleons. 



Troll bogeys aren’t very expensive, if you’ve managed to save some Galleons, though you might not be as willing to pay their fee in the first stages of the game. 



In the latter case, you’ll need to head straight to one of the troll lairs which are spread throughout the Hogwarts Legacy map.

Where to find troll lairs in Hogwarts Legacy  



So far, we’ve found eight troll lairs in the game, with the majority of them located in the south of the map. 



If you prefer to stay close to Hogwarts, there’s also a troll lair deep inside the Forbidden Forest, although you never know what else is lurking around there. 



From north to south, here are all the troll lair locations in Hogwarts Legacy: 




Deep in the Forbidden Forest 



At Feldcroft Region, past Priya Treadwell 



On the south side of the bridge at Coastal Cavern 



Right by the South Poidsear Coast fast travel point 



Across Marunweem Bridge at Marunweem Lake 



Slighty northwest of the Bainburgh settlement 



At the southernmost point of Manor Cape close to Henrietta’s Hideaway 



In between the Cragcroftshire and Clagmar Coast regions, next to the three big rocks by the coast

Once you find a troll, you shouldn’t have much trouble defeating it and collecting up to three bogeys. 



However, armoured trolls are a bit harder to knock out as they carry clubs which they can smack you with. 



In this case, your best bet is to get close to the armoured troll’s chest and use spells like Expelliarmus, which will disarm it. 



A combo between that, Confringo, and Incendio, which should damage, should be enough to bring the troll down.
