It’s no surprise to find that Hogwarts Legacy has become the fastest-selling Harry Potter game ever, as it easily takes number one.



Controversy or not it was clear that Hogwarts Legacy was going to be massive long before it was actually released, with game sales ending up 64% higher than the first week of Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone from 2001 – the previous best-seller.



Back then the licence was owned by EA and there were no digital sales, so overall Hogwarts Legacy will have done even better than it currently seems. Even so, sales are up 80% on Elden Ring – which was released around the same time last year.



The PlayStation 5 version of Hogwarts Legacy accounted for 82% of total sales, a mixture of Xbox owners preferring to buy digitally and some minor exclusive content for the PlayStation versions of the game.
