Call Of Duty Twitch streamer who broke his knee gets care package from Activision

Call Of Duty Twitch streamer who broke his knee gets care package from Activision
We wouldn’t recommend breaking your bones just to get free stuff from Activision (pic: Twitter)

Activision has sent Call Of Duty merch to a Twitch streamer after a clip of him breaking his leg during an online match went viral.

It’s one thing to break your controller in a fit of gamer rage, but how many can say they’ve broken their own body? That’s precisely what happened to Twitch streamer TheDannyHammer, who got so enraged during a Call Of Duty : Warzone match that he broke his leg and dislocated his knee.

The incident happened back in 2021, but only went viral last month thanks to coverage by FullSquadGaming reporter Jake Lucky, who added that TheDannyHammer was on the road to a full recovery.

This apparently caught the attention of Activision , as the company recently sent him a care package containing Call Of Duty merchandise.

For some reason, most of the merch is themed around the Godzilla vs. King Kong themed Operation Monarch event from last March, but TheDannyHammer is still very grateful for all of it.

‘You did not have to send me anything,’ he said in a recent stream. ‘You could send me a quarter and I’d be like ‘Wow, this is awesome, I can’t believe the guys sent me something.’’

Exactly how he dislocated his knee isn’t entirely clear. In the clip, he stands up to yell over being killed during the match, only to almost immediately topple over in pain.

Thankfully, he’s on the mend and he appears to have taken his injury in his stride, literally. He even admitted that, since he was stationed in a navy military barracks, he had to file an injury report.

His commanding officer apparently then showed it to his children and told them not to play Call Of Duty anymore.

Bro we had to do an injury report thing 🤣 whole command saw it and the CO showed his kids and told them they weren’t allowed to play COD anymore 🤣 — TheDannyHammerTTV (@dannywoz) December 20, 2022

While an act of generosity (and good PR) on Activision’s part, this hopefully won’t encourage other streamers to break their own bones just to get a free mousepad with King Kong’s face on it.

Speaking of King Kong, if you played the Operation Monarch event and came away wishing the giant ape had his own dedicated video game, you’ll be pleased to know that such a project is in development.

There aren’t any real details on it aside from it being a multiplatform release and in development at GameMill Entertainment, perhaps best known nowadays for its licensed Nickelodeon games .

This will also be the first King Kong video game since Ubisoft’s tie-in to the 2005 Peter Jackson movie, which was surprisingly good.
