A YouTuber claims to have seen the first GTA 6 trailer but there’s still no clue as to when anything will be revealed publicly.



2023 may be a new year, but it’s going to have the same old obsessions, with everyone still desperate to learn more about Grand Theft Auto 6.



While 2022 gave us some legit scoops courtesy of insider reports and the disastrous hacking incident , any claims of an imminent trailer or release date announcement should be met with a healthy dose of scepticism.



The first such rumour of the year has already begun to spread, with a Brazilian YouTuber claiming that they’ve seen the first trailer for GTA 6 and… it sounds very uninteresting.



Although we’ve never heard of the guy until today, SanInPlay clearly has made a name for himself with his GTA videos, boasting 1.24 million subscribers and over 117,000 Twitter followers.



How he could’ve seen any such GTA 6 trailer isn’t explained, but it sounds more like a brief teaser than anything.



All he says is that it shows a plane passing overhead, a lizard crossing the street, and dogs playing on a beach. In between that, a woman called Lucia, believed to be one of the game’s main characters, is seen exercising in prison.

If accurate, it’s a fairly mundane way of announcing a game as hyped as GTA 6. SanInPlay doesn’t mention when Rockstar may plan on airing the trailer or if it indicates a release date for the game itself.



Recall that Twitch streamer xQc once claimed to have actually played GTA 6 last year. However, he was most likely lying, since he said he was violating an NDA. If he had, Rockstar’s lawyers would have sued him for potentially millions, which obviously never happened.



In comparison, SanInPlay has a teeny bit more credibility as he did suggest, in August , that Lucia was the name of one of the game’s protagonists. This was corroborated one month later by the leaked videos from the Rockstar hack .

Still, as with the xQc example, if SanInPlay was made privy to any GTA 6 info early, his decision to leak details risks inviting legal action from Rockstar. At the very least they’re not going to show him anything else – assuming he saw the trailer through legitimate means.



There have been suggestions from other sources, including Microsoft , that GTA 6 will be out in 2024. So, Rockstar will likely start talking about the game later this year. Precisely when it will share an actual trailer is another question entirely.
