Some Pokémon Scarlet and Violet players feel like they’ve been duped by the the game’s buggy performance and they want their money back.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is easily the best Pokémon game on Nintendo Switch but, especially for a Nintendo game, it is a disappointingly buggy one.
Despite this, the game managed to outsell highly-anticipated titles such as God Of War Ragnarök and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, becoming the second-fastest selling Pokémon game of all time.
While some players find humour in the game’s buggy moments, such as a Fuecoco falling asleep in the middle of a battle, others can’t take it anymore and are asking Nintendo for a refund.
If you’re disappointed with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet you might get lucky and get your refund approved by Nintendo, as some Reddit users did. Although there’s less chance of that happening outside of the US.
One player pre-ordered a digital copy of Violet through the Nintendo eShop but later decided it was not up to par and decided to contact customer service.
‘The rep actually told me that given the situation regarding the state of Pokémon S/V she would elevate my case to ensure the refund was approved. It was approved an hour later,’ the Reddit user Hotdog_Daddy explained.
Seriously, if you find the game unplayable seek a refund there’s no shame in it from pokemon
Other Pokémon fans jumped in on the thread and ‘welcomed’ the original poster to the ‘refunds team’ and added that it ‘sucks’ that they have to go through this process.

In a similar thread, another Reddit user from Canada shared that they’re done defending the Pokémon franchise and that the graphics made them ‘double-check’ if they’re ‘ playing on a toaster ’.
However, others wanted to defend developer Game Freak after people started claiming they were being ‘lazy.’
‘Give the game devs an extra 1-2 years and they could probably make a good, finished game. The main issue here is probably the merchandise companies if I were to guess since that is where Pokémon makes the most money,’ one player replied .
