Warcraft for mobile teased for early May reveal

Blizzard will be revealing the first Warcraft game built for mobile very soon but hasn’t even said what sort of game it is.
While Blizzard Entertainment has been busy with ports, re-releases, remasters, and World Of Warcraft expansions (like the upcoming Dragonflight ), it hasn’t had an entirely new game release since Overwatch in 2016.
2022 is poised to change that with the release of Diablo Immortal (its free-to-play online role-player for mobile and PC), and now the company is teasing another mobile game.
In an announcement on Blizzard’s official Twitter account, the only thing it confirms is that it will be set within the Warcraft universe.
While it’s not the first Warcraft game for mobile devices, Blizzard is describing it as the first one to be built specifically for mobile.
Beyond that and a potential logo, Blizzard hasn’t said anything else about it, not even what kind of game it will be. You won’t have to wait much longer to find out, though, as Blizzard has a livestream reveal scheduled.

Said livestream will take place on Tuesday, May 3 at 10am PT, which is 6pm BST here in the UK.
A website is already live for it and can be visited here , but there’s nothing there besides a reminder for the date.
‘The Warcraft universe continues to capture imaginations across the globe with enlightening experiences and immersive gameplay, that are the foundation for World Of Warcraft and Hearthstone,’ reads a Blizzard blog post .
‘We are happy to present a new mobile game for the heroes of Azeroth looking to play on the go, and we can’t wait to get it into your hands.’
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier claims that this is actually one of two Warcraft mobile games in development and that both of them have been in ‘Blizzard’s incubation department for several years.’

Blizzard is also still working on Overwatch 2 , which is currently in beta and has been doing phenomenally well on Twitch. The game lacks a release date, however, and isn’t expected to launch until 2023 at the earliest.
It and Diablo 4, another Blizzard project, were both delayed, no doubt in part due to the recent turmoil within Blizzard, and Activision as a whole, brought about by the sexual harassment and toxic workplace allegations .
After a very long dry spell, Blizzard is finally preparing to release a bunch of new games. This is one of two mobile Warcraft games that have been in development in Blizzard’s incubation department for several years. I’ve heard mostly positive buzz about both. https://t.co/Yrckhcv8PD — Jason Schreier (@jasonschreier) April 28, 2022
