Kojima Productions has officially started working on a new project but isn’t saying what it is or if it’s a sequel to Death Stranding.
Hideo Kojima has confirmed that a new project is in development at his studio Kojima Productions but there’s no clue as to what it might be.
He’s previously expressed interested in Death Stranding 2, or another related title, but has also spoken about wanting to work on a horror game , following the cancellation of Silent Hills .
However, he recently mentioned that a major project had been cancelled , which may have been the horror title. Although the complete lack of any confirmed information makes it impossible to tell.

One complication is that it’s not necessarily a game at all, as Kojima has often spoken about how he also wants the studio to make films, anime, manga, and other multimedia creations.
The job ads linked to in the tweet seem to be mostly game related though, including various programmers and a level and game designer.

Whatever’s going on Kojima Productions audio director Ludvig Forssell recently tweeted that he’d completed the first ‘COVID recording’ this year for an ‘undisclosed project’.
Again, there’s no certainty that the project is a game though or that it’s the same one Kojima has just announced.
However, given how well Kojima gets on with producer and host Geoff Keighley there’s a good chance something will be unveiled at The Game Awards this December.
