Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta cheats are ruining crossplay

In this case, cheaters do prosper (pic: Activision)

The Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta is full of cheaters, despite any progress made not carrying over to the full game.

The beta for Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available to everyone now and has even been extended for an extra day.

However, despite it offering crossplay between PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, console owners may want to turn the feature off, because there have been reports of cheaters on the PC version.

It appears the most popular cheat being used is an aim assist of some kind, allowing cheaters to effortlessly mow down their opponents.

An example of this can be seen in the video below, where the aim of the player’s gun clearly snaps from one target to another instantly.

Some players resort to using cheats and hacks in order to easily and quickly increase their online ranking and unlock rewards, but what’s particularly baffling is that no progress made into the beta is carried over into the full game.

So, why are there cheaters if any progress they make is a waste of time? To just feel good, to show that they can, or to deliberately spoil it for everyone else?

Regardless, this doesn’t bode well for when the game launches next month, as these same cheaters will no doubt come back when they can make actual progress.

Call Of Duty: Warzone suffered from the exact same issue and Activision has since issued thousands of bans to cheating players and updated matchmaking so cheaters could only play against other cheaters.

However, some Reddit users aren’t confident that Activision will properly address the issue.

‘Once Activision has your money, they could not give two s***s about what you do in the game,’ writes one.

‘The anti-cheat bulls**t they put in the game does absolutely nothing but give Activision warm and fuzzies that they are doing something.’

Another responded with how it’s actually in Activision’s best interests to prevent cheaters.

‘If you’re still playing and having fun, you’re more likely to spend more money. They’ve been suing cheat companies. They’re trying, they’re just not doing enough.’

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on November 13.
