Darksiders on Stadia costs more than PC version and no one knows why

Stadia suffers another embarrassment as players wonder why Darksiders Genesis costs £8 more than the PC version.
Google’s own foray into the world of gaming with Stadia has not been an easy one, having been heavily criticised and panned across the board.
Only recently did Google find itself offering refunds for certain games to disgruntled owners, and now it’s suffered another embarrassment regarding the recent launch of Darksiders Genesis, which came out yesterday for both Stadia and PC.
Although it’s not an exclusive, Stadia owners may certainly be tempted to try out the spin-off prequel title ahead of console players, who won’t be able to play it until February next year.
But there is one thing that makes purchasing it on PC seem more desirable, and that’s the price. For whatever reason, the Stadia version is more expensive, costing $39.99/£34.99, as opposed to $29.99/£26.99 on Steam, GOG and Humble.
So for what reason is there a £8 difference between the two? At this point, no one knows. Google hasn’t commented on this and when publisher THQ was reached by Polygon for a statement, all it said was ‘THQ doesn’t comment on their price policy.’

At the moment, Stadia is only available to Stadia Pro subscribers and has exactly 24 games to purchase, most of which have been available on other platforms for a while already, including some admittedly big names like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Final Fantasy 15, and Red Dead Redemption, with other highly anticipated titles such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Doom Eternal confirmed for next year.
With no exclusives apart from a couple of indie games, Google needs to work extra hard to entice consumers into investing in Stadia over consoles and PC, but this latest in a string of perceived blunders probably isn’t helping its already awkward image.
