Doctor Who: The Edge Of Time VR game out now, lets you play as a Dalek

Doctor Who: The Edge Of Time – now you can be the Dalek
A brand-new VR video game starring Daleks, Weeping Angels, and Jodie Whittaker herself is available now on PC and PS4.
We were about to call The Edge Of Time the best Doctor Who video game ever, but considering the dire quality of all the others that doesn’t really say much.
The problem has always been budget, since Doctor Who only used to appeal primarily to UK audiences, but now it’s got a wider fanbase there’s more money available for what should be one of the most interesting VR releases of the year.
The game features the voice of Jodie Whittaker as The Doctor and gives you the chance to use your own sonic screwdriver and play around with the physics-defying interior of the TARDIS, which works especially well in VR.

Doctor Who: The Edge Of Time VR release date
The Edge Of Time was released on Tuesday, 12 November for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and HTCV Vive Cosmos. An Oculus Quest version will also be released later this year.
The game costs £19.99 and we’ll have a full review shortly but we did play a preview earlier in the year, when we also spoke to UK developer Maze Theory, at which point it all looked very promising.
You play as a new companion dragged into a typical universe-threating adventure that involves visiting Victorian London, an Egyptian temple, and a stranded spaceship.

The Edge Of Time features both new and classic villains, including Daleks and Weeping Angels – which again are perfect for VR because they only move when you look away.
You’ll also get to pilot a Dalek shell and meet brand new monsters created just for the game.
Hopefully, this will signal something of a renaissance for games based on British TV shows, as the same company is already working on another VR game based on Peaky Blinders .
