Fortnite patch v10.31 goes live: what is new in the latest update?

What more is in store for Season X? (Picture: Epic Games)
Fortnite has a new update and it includes Party Hub for mobile users, changes to the endgame, and the return of ziplines.
A week has passed since Epic Games’ latest update, so it makes sense that this update v10.31 is a more smaller conservative patch.
The last update for Fortnite was the massive v10.30 patch but while this week’s is a lot smaller scale there’s still some useful additions.
What’s new in Battle Royale?
Party Hub
The main new feature is the addition of Party Hub for mobile. ‘Hang with friends while you’re on the go, so the party never stops,’ says the patch notes
With the Party Hub you can see who’s online, party up and play together while everyone is hanging out on the bus. Or maybe you just want to voice chat for a while, it’s up to you.
You need to have Fortnite installed on your mobile to use this function but you don’t have to be in a match to chat with your friends. At this time, you can use only voice chat but they are working on a messaging service for the future.
You can also meet up on the Party Hub and then transfer the entire group to a different platform such as PC, Xbox One or PlayStation 4.

It’s time to mobilize.
The v10.31 update releases today. Downtime is expected to begin at 4 AM ET (0800 UTC).

Downtime for the v10.31 Update begins now.
Patch notes will be available after downtime ends.

Storm Changes
Epic has adjusted where the final storm ends to prevent it from being in one of the Rift Zones with unusual rules or mechanics, which made matches unfair for people that weren’t used to them.
The patch now ensures the storm will not end in Moisty Palms, Greasy Grove, Tilted Town or Retail Row.
Players can still land in these locations on startup, but the final climactic end to the battle royale game will no longer be in these locations.

Ziplines
Ziplines are back in this update, so Fortnite fans can once again zoom across the land in style.
Epic Games were forced to disable them following an ‘issue’ which they haven’t released a statement for. Presumably it’s now been fixed though, as they are now dotted all over the map once more.
Bug Fixes
As usual, the update fixes numerous bugs, has updates for mobile players and more accessibility options. The full patch notes containing everything is available here .
Sadly, there’s no mention of the recently discovered datamined skins that were discovered this morning.
