Luigi’s Mansion 3 – the spookiest release date of the year
Nintendo has finally given an exact release date for their spooky new adventure, as they complete their line-up for the rest of the year.

It always seems so inappropriate when publishers release horror games during the long summer months, when the nights never seem to darken for more than a few hours, but that’s not a problem Luigi’s Mansion 3 will need to worry about.
Although it’s a bit of a stretch to call it a horror game, the ghost-filled caper will be released on 31 October, according to Nintendo UK.
We were very impressed by the game when we got to play it at E3 last month and with the developer of the excellent Luigi’s Mansion 2 back on board it stands every chance of being the best Nintendo game of 2019.

After another extremely slow start to the year though the second half of 2019 is very busy for Nintendo, especially this month and next.
This week you’ve got Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, then next week there’s Fire Emblem: Three Houses, followed by PlatinumGames’ Astral Chain on 30 August and mech game Daemon X Machina on 13 September.

After that you’re into the big hitters, with The Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening out on 20 September, Luigi’s Mansion 3 on 31 October, and Pokémon Sword/Shield on 15 November.
In terms of exclusives that’s a pretty impressive line-up, especially when you add in ports such as Ni No Kuni, Dragon Quest XI S, and Layton’s Mystery Journey.
2020 should also see Nintendo break the pattern of a slow first half of the year, with the delayed Animal Crossing: New Horizons scheduled for 20 March.
