Rainbow Six Quarantine is a new sci-fi co-op game claim latest rumours

Pioneer as it was originally teased – apparently now it’s a Rainbow Six game
There might never be a Rainbow Six Siege 2 but Ubisoft is allegedly working on a new Rainbow Six that’s very different, as well as a new RPG.

We’ve said it more than once already this week but Ubiosft are always the most unpredictable third party publisher at E3, simply because they seem to love announcing as many games as possible out of the blue.
Although many of them leak ahead of time this is the first anyone’s heard of Rainbow Six Quarantine, which according to Kotaku’s Jason Schreier evolved from the previously cancelled sci-fi project Pioneer – which was originally teased by a Watch Dogs 2 mission.
Pioneer was supposed to be a peaceful space exploration game, before being turned into a co-op shooter involving fighting aliens, and then into a Rainbow Six game. Although who the bad guys are in Quarantine is unknown.

If that all sounds a bit unlikely the news has also been backed up by reliable tipster Nibel, who claims it will be announced at E3 next week.
He describes Quarantine as a PvE co-op shooter, which if it does involve aliens might mean a sort of sci-fi themed version of Left 4 Dead.
How exactly that’s going to fit in the pseudo-realistic world of Rainbow Six we don’t know, but maybe it’ll involve Trump’s much-ridiculed Space Force.

The Orpheus project you see mentioned in the tweet below is something else Schreier mentioned in the same podcast, and supposedly a small-scale role-playing game with a similar art style (but not gameplay) to Zelda: Breath Of The Wild.
He offered no detail on the gameplay or setting, but Orpheus is a character from Greek myth who famously travelled into the underworld to rescue his wife Eurydice. Codenames don’t always have anything to do with their content, but at the very least it might imply a connection to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Curiously, the Kotaku podcast in which both these games were first mentioned seems to have been deleted, but that may be a coincidence as it’s hard to imagine Ubisoft getting that upset at such vague details.

Update: Rainbow Six Quarantine is a co-op PVE shooter that will be announced at Ubisoft's E3 2019
