Red Dead Online adds Gun Rush Battle Royale mode in new update

Red Dead Redemption II – does the gameplay even matter?
Rockstar Games has given Red Dead Redemption 2 another Battle Royale mode in the latest update , which sees 32 players compete to be the last one standing.
Titled Gun Rush, the new mode follows the traditional format – seeing players quickly scramble for weapons and gear as a shrinking play area draws people into conflict.
The mode itself is available to play in free-for-all and team variations.

Red Dead Online previously came with a battle royale-esque mode in Make It Count, which focused more on tactical survival and was on a smaller scale – with Gun Rush sounding more action-centric.
The developer teased Races and Showdown modes are in the pipeline too, while they’re also working on ‘dynamic events’, new weapons, clothing and all-new story missions.
Rockstar are also planning to trickle out daily challenges to incentivise players, and outlined changes to law and bounty upgrades.

The post reads: ‘Soon, players will get a bounty for committing crimes and will be incentivised to pay them off within an allotted time. Wait too long and bounty hunters from each of the states will track the player forcing them to either pay up or escape.’
Player location marks are facing minor tweaks, which will ‘reduce the range to which you are visible to others’. The ability to identify particularly aggressive players is set to be introduced too, via a ‘darkening blip’ which will make you more visible from a longer range to those in the area.
The developer states Red Dead Online will remain in beta ‘for a few more months’ as these new updates roll out.

Red Dead Redemption II is available on PS4 and Xbox One.
