Pennsylvania Online Casino Revenue Surpasses $200 Million For Fourth Straight Month

The biggest iGaming market in the country isn’t letting up.

Pennsylvania online casinos amassed $216,491,295 in May revenue, marking the second-highest total in state history and continuing an unprecedented streak of $200 million-months.

Key takeaways

Online casino revenue surpassed $200 million for the fifth time in the past six months.

Revenue was up 27.1% compared to May 2023.

May’s $216.5 million in revenue was the second-highest in state history.

Monthly and annual revenue rise recorded on strong May numbers

Online casinos saw a 2% increase over PA’s April 2024 gaming revenue and a staggering 27.1% increase over May 2023. While the monthly increase was pedestrian, the yearly jump of more than 25% points to the considerable growth of Pennsylvania online casinos.

For example, total revenue passed $180 million once from July 2019 when online casinos launched through May 2023. However, from June 2023 to May 2024, revenue passed $180 million eight times.

Over the past six months, revenue has passed $200 million five times:

May 2024: $216,491,295

April 2024: $212,212,613

March 2024: $233,087,604

February 2024: $215,288,753

January 2024: $189,302,559

December 2023: $204,224,660

In the national context, Pennsylvania’s numbers are unmatched. Michigan and New Jersey, the two biggest markets in the country behind the Keystone State, have surpassed $200 million in revenue just twice through April 2024.

Here’s a look at how online casino revenue worked out for the state’s 11 land-based casinos that have iGaming:

What’s ahead for PA online casinos?

Casino revenue tends to dip in the summer, leaving Pennsylvania online casinos with an interesting question heading into June, July, and August: Can the $200 million streak continue?

Using revenue growth rates from May 2023 to September 2023, we predict there’s a chance revenue could drop below $200 million in July:

Month Projected Revenue

October 2024 $237,527,711

September 2024 $238,003,263

August 2024 $218,461,249
