Alinity was banned for copyright infringement while watching TV with her fans, and now she has to go back to school to get her channel back.

Popular Twitch streamer Alinity is no stranger to getting banned, as she’s been side-lined numerous times and even threatened to leave Twitch after being reprimanded for twerking last year.

The Just Chatting streamer has now been banned again, but this time she can get her account back in a similar fashion as to when xQc had to attend a therapy session to get unbanned .

Alinity can restore her channel by completing ‘copyright school’, and instead of threatening to leave the platform she seems to appreciate just how funny that sounds this time around.

During a recent stream Alinity was reportedly banned while watching a reality TV series with her viewers, and received a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) strike.

She then received an email with the succinct title: ‘Complete copyright school to remove your copyright strike.’

Alinity posted the email on Twitter, adding laughing emojis, although it does seem like she will attend the lesson.

The email goes on to say that she can remove the copyright strike by completing the module and a short quiz, and added:

‘Copyright law can be confusing, which is why we’ve created resources to help you understand some copyright basics, how Twitch’s Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) process works, and to remind you of your responsibilities when you stream.’

Alinity’s Twitch channel is still down, so she can’t have completed the 30 minute course yet. According to Twitch’s guidelines a total of three copyright strikes results in the channel being terminated.

There’s nothing really very confusing about copyright law – you just can’t stream content that belongs to other companies – but hopefully Alinity will get the message and be back online soon.
