The Maryland Lottery and Gaming (MLG) report says that during March, Maryland casinos combined to generate $178,137,823 in revenue from slot machines and table games.
March 2024 ranks as the fifth-best single month for Maryland gaming revenue since the launch of the state’s casino program.
Maryland’s six privately owned casinos reported a notable 11.9% monthly increase and a 0.9% annual rise in revenue, and here’s how the figure compares to previous months of the year:

Maryland’s January 2024 gaming revenue total: $153.2 million
February 2024 gaming revenue total for MD : $159.2 million
March gaming revenue total: $178.1 million

Maryland casinos reported a 0.9% annual increase in March
According to the MLG’s March 2024 gaming report , Maryland casinos’ monthly revenue figure represents a 0.9% increase (or $1,613,239 more) compared to March of last year.
Like in February, only half of Maryland casinos — MGM National Harbor , Live! Casino and Hollywood Perryville — reported an annual increase in gaming revenue in March.
Once again, MGM National Harbor led the way with casino revenue. Here’s how much progress each of Maryland gaming venues made from March 2023:

MGM National Harbor: $75.1 million, a 3.4% increase from March 2023
Live! Casino & Hotel: $64.8 million, a 0.5% annual increase
Horseshoe Casino Baltimore: $17.3 million, a 4.3% yearly drop
Hollywood Casino Perryville: $8.5 million in gaming revenue, a 6% annual rise
Ocean Downs Casino: $7.5 million in gaming revenue, a 6.5% drop from March 2023
Rocky Gap Casino Resort: $5.0 million in gaming revenue, a 6.7% yearly decline

Six MD casinos show a nearly 12% monthly increase in revenue
When it comes to monthly comparison, all six Maryland casinos reported growth as follows:

MGM National Harbor showed a 12.3% month-over-month increase
Live! Casino & Hotel revenue reported a 9.1% monthly increase
Horseshoe Casino Baltimore made 15.7% monthly progress
Hollywood Casino Perryville rose 14.2% from February
Ocean Downs Casino showed an 18.3% month-over-month increase
Rocky Gap Casino Resort reported a 16.1% monthly progress

Maryland casinos bring in $76.5 million to the state in March
Casino gaming contributions to the state in March 2024 totaled $76.5 million, a 2.6% increase compared to March 2023.
Contributions to the Education Trust Fund in March 2024 were $55.2 million , a 1.8% annual increase.
Casino revenues also support the communities where the casinos are located, Maryland’s horse racing industry, as well as small, minority and women-owned businesses.
Maryland online casino bill will not pass this session
While Maryland brick-and-mortar casinos continue to develop, Maryland online casino legislation failed to progress this session.
Sponsored by Delegate  Vanessa Atterbeary , HB1319, which included online casinos in its budget proposal, passed the Maryland House of Delegates by a vote of 92-43. However, the state Senate leadership decided not to include MD online casino gaming in its budget proposal.
The last hope for Maryland online casinos to make progress this year is for lawmakers to put a referendum on the ballot and give voters a chance to approve online casinos this November. That way, Maryland legislators can come back and start planning the implementation details next year.
The bill allows up to 30 gambling licenses to be issued across the state and would put the MLG in charge of overseeing online casinos. The measure has been drawing cannibalization concerns and has received criticism from hospitality workers, union leaders and local organizations.
