MGM Resorts International has unveiled a “bold new chapter in Las Vegas hospitality” with the completed refurbishment of the rooms and suites of its iconic MGM Grand Hotel & Casino property. According to company officials, many of the changes are based on guest feedback.

MGM Grand Completed Its Renovations

In its announcement, MGM said that MGM Grand Hotel & Casino has unveiled a whole new collection of 3,969 rooms and suites in its main tower. Visitors can look forward to enjoying the rooms’ sleek contemporary design and exceptional comfort. Guests will be able to enjoy spa-like walk-in showers, illuminated closets, blackout drapery, minibars, USB charging stations, and smart TVs, among other luxurious amenities.

Rich walnut finishes and vibrant carpets complete the look of MGM King rooms, while visitors of MGM Two Queen rooms can expect designs featuring soft gray stone, vertical sconces and tailored headboards.

MGM noted that the renovations ended up adding an additional 111 suites to MGM Grand’s roster, bringing the total to 753. The suites range from 675 to 1,784 square feet and are highlighted by refined finishes, bright open layouts and inviting sectionals. The floor plans have been reconfigured, ensuring greater privacy for guests, as well as spaces for both work and relaxation.

New Experiences Await

The company elaborated that the remodel of the hotel tower cost $300 million and was designed by global architecture firm Gensler in partnership with MGM Resorts Design & Development.

MGM noted the glamour of the disco era was a huge inspiration for its new interior designs, highlighting MGM Grand’s history of offering iconic entertainment. The disco theme is highlighted by LED installations and various custom artworks across guest rooms and corridors. MGM explained that the designers aimed for a look that is “both playful and refined.”

The company confirmed that guests can now book the remodeled rooms and suites and enjoy the new interior alongside MGM’s premium dining and entertainment options.

In addition to refurbishing the rooms, MGM Grand announced the launch of several new experiences, such as NETFLIX BITES – an unprecedented dining venue inspired by fan-favorite shows. Speaking of beloved shows, MGM Grand also introduced The FRIENDS experience – an attraction inspired by the titular series that allows visitors to visit an interactive, photo-ready environment. Other additions include a DJ Kygo’s Palm Tree Crew day club, an immersive residency from the Jabbawockeez, and a refresh of the menu of MGM Grand’s contemporary Japanese restaurant, Morimoto.

An Ambitious Step for MGM Grand

Mike Neubecker, MGM Grand’s president and chief operating officer, was pleased with the overall remodel, calling it an “ambitious step in the resort’s evolution.” Neubecker added that many of the changes were based on customer feedback.

Inspired by our guests’ feedback, we’ve designed rooms that deliver what both business and leisure travelers value most, providing a thoughtful balance of style, comfort and functionality.

The completion of the refurbishment comes shortly after MGM Resorts published its financial results for the third quarter of the year.
